Terra Cotta with Black Arylic and Wire
This sculpture was inspired by deep sea divers. This piece explores gesture with hand and arm motion and challenged the size of the kiln used to fire the clay. This simple piece inspired subtle detail that makes the body feel like a person. I often call this the "Headless Sea Horseman" because it reminds me of images of the Headless Horseman from "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow."
