These photographs were taken by my grandfather, Morris Katz. He kept many undeveloped negatives and I developed these for him. Trained in a secret program in Canada, he was one of the first 20 Americans to use Radar against German U-Boats in WWII. He took photos from the skies when they were not on missions. He met my grandmother on Virginia Beach right after the war ended and he left the Air Force. Because of the G.I. Bill he was able to go to NYU to get a Business degree. Education was most important to him, and while he did earn a degree, he continued to educate himself on a wide array of subjects. He died at the age of 94, a month away from his and my grandmother's 70th anniversary.
