A love of art, science, and humanitarianism is what lead me to study architecture, and my interest in the politics has lead me to declare a minor in international relations and politics. When I entered college, my goal was to become as knowledgeable in the sustainability field of architecture as possible, but what I have learned is that sustainability is not enough. For the design fields to create work that actually benefits people, it must not only be beneficial to the environment, the community must be involved with the design process. Through my architectural and political studies I aim to find ways to combine public interest design work with sustainability to make good design more accessible for those under served by our current built environments.
